New Television Series ‘Marisa Romanov’ to Premiere Sneak Preview of the Pilot

 ‘Marisa Romanov’ a neo- noir style crime-drama series is set to premiere the first 10 Minutes to the pilot episode as a teaser.

 

Los Angeles, CA– MS Film PR Literary is proud to announce the premiere of the pilot sizzle of the new Marisa Romanov series.

‘Marisa Romanov’ follows the story of Leo, a successful crime novelist in the 1940’s who is just finishing his latest book; Marisa Romanov, about a beautiful femme fatale pre-KGB assassin. His obsession with his main character leads to deadly consequences. Fast forward to present day and Marisa McKenzie is just learning the truth behind her birth, and uncovering the secrets of her past.

“This project is purely a passion project since the original short swept the film festival circuit with awards and reviews back in 2001…I always felt there was more to this story to unfold and I feel blessed that its finally coming to fruition as a full series,” says Spigener-Sapon, Showrunner and Executive Producer of the series.

 

Writer/director Miranda Spigener-Sapon graduated with High Honors from The National Radio Institute with a BFA in Film Studies/Communications. Her first project as director was the regional PBS TV series Eat Art (1998) that aired on PBS affiliates in: Houston, Austin, San Antonio, El Paso and Los Angeles. Since then she has worked on several projects from commercials, music videos and documentaries. Ms. Spigener’s documentary Walk On (1998) about hippotherapy aired from 1999-2000 on TLC/Discovery Networks. Her film noir short Marisa Romanov went on to be part of the Official Shorts Selection, 2001 Venice International Film Festival – Audience Choice and was screened during an Audience Pick/Alternate Selection during 2001 Berlin Film Festival. Aside from film/TV, Miranda is currently President of the L.A. based MS Film PR Literary and a founding partner of Texas based VerveStar. Prior to that, she was Development Manager for Ancestral Films, Head Acquisitions for Channel 3 Releasing, and President of the Southeast Writers Conference.

Miranda describes this series as “An edgy, thriller that will push the boundaries of what is real, what is fiction and what happens when those worlds collide.”

The pilot sizzle will be showing on Thursday, December 18th, 2014 at 7:00pm at JET Studios 5126-30 Lankershim Blvd. North Hollywood, CA 91601 and includes a Christmas after party/reception featuring a signature cocktail.
